According to the NME website System Of а Down started recording a new album. The last album the band released in 2005.

“It is 6 months since we have started recording. We already have 15 songs”, said the musician John Dolmayan (drums), adding that the musicians are playing better now. “We do not want to create the 2nd ‘Toxicity’, as it has been created long before. It should be for the next generation, and everyone can see that we do not sleep on our laurels”.

The band will also have tour in 2017 and will be the honorary guest at the prestigious Download Festival.
